We have been on a study trip and guests at the International Art Academy Palestine (IAAP) in Ramallah. This show is a response to the workshop collaborations with students at IAAP and our trip.

IAAP was founded by a group of Palestinian artists in collaboration with the Norwegian artist Henrik Placht in 2007. KHIO has from an early stage on been an active partner to support this initiative and the Norwegian Foreign Ministry has secured the school funding over several years. During the past five years Professor Jeannette Christensen has had an extensive collaboration with IAAP, holding workshops at IAAP and hosting students from IAAP at KHIO. The aim has been to share experience beyond national boundaries, to build on the relationships that have been established and continue a dialogue on art and arts education. It is an opportunity to question a lot of aspects of art production, what we are influenced by and where our ideas may be rooted.

Jeannette Christensen is professor, and Beatrice Alexanian, Randi Furuberg, Anna Knappe, Janne Maria Lysen and Eirik Slyngstad are students at the Academy Fine Art Oslo.
